INTRODUCTION

General Surgery Department Teluk Intan Hospital provides services for the benefit of customers from the District Hilir Perak, in particular, and part of Batang Padang District, District of Kampong Gajah and Sabak Bernam District, Selangor.

The Department of Surgeon's responsibilities include:

  1. Internal Patient Services
  2. Outpatient Services
  3. Elective Surgery
  4. Emergency Surgery
  5. Endoscopic Treatment
  6. Daily Treatment
  7. Daily Chemotherapy

In addition to medical services, the Department of General Surgery also emphasizes continuing medical education (CME) for Medical Officers, Graduate Medical Officers, Nurses, Assistant Medical Officers and Health Care Assistants.

General Surgery Department Should Provide Trained Member In General Surgical Treatment Using Latest Technology To Improve Quality In Case Of Elective or Emergency Surgical Treatment Cases.

DEPARTMENT OBJECTIVES

To provide the latest, effective and efficient surgical treatment services to patients with general surgical and injuries, whether elective or emergency.

Providing understanding to the local community about the existence of surgical treatment services where there are no other problems to refer to other hospitals. This has been successful successfully through the 'Joint Client Program' activities and organizing certain campaigns and courses.

FUNCTIONS

Provides specialized treatment for General Surgical disciplines, including Diagnostic Endoscopy and Breast Clinic.

Among the services provided are as follows: -

  1. Elective and emergency surgery services.
  2. Small surgery for outpatient and day care patients (Day Care)
  3. Endoscopic Services (O.G.D.S and Colonoscopy)
  4. FNAC (Fine Needle Aspiration For Cytology) during the Breast Clinic session.
  5. Surgical Outpatient Clinic.
  6. Daily Chemotherapy Treatment
  7. Check-In Breast Examination
